Shane first joined Oatley Vigmond as an articling student and then as an Associate, following his call to the Bar in 2009. Shane holds an LLB from the University of Western Ontario.
Shane is committed to representing clients who have suffered serious injuries as a result of motor vehicle accidents, occupiers’ liability, accident benefits and medical malpractice. Shane enjoys being involved in cases with complex and novel issues that require out-of-the-box thinking to overcome a complex issue. For Shane, the best part of his job is working with clients who truly need his help, and actually having the ability to make a difference in their lives.
When Shane isn’t practicing personal injury law, he enjoys being active with his family in any way that he can whether it is downhill skiing, hockey or participating in water sports. He is also an avid music fan who loves to attend concerts.
While in law school, Shane worked for AthletesCAN as a program manager for Sport Solution, a free service providing legal advocacy to Canadian amateur athletes. He has assisted Provincial, National, Olympic and Paralympic athletes in resolving disputes related to carding, team selection, discipline, harassment and anti-doping. He helped athletes prepare for appeals and arbitration and authored several articles on sports related legal issues that could affect them.
Shane’s articles on personal injury law have been published in The Litigator, the Journal of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association.
