Steven Hayashi was walking across an intersection in a pedestrian crosswalk when he was hit by a car and knocked to the ground. The driver of the car that hit Steve came to assist him and both men were then run over by a driver who failed to see them on the road. Steve suffered a complete spinal cord injury and a traumatic brain injury. Both drivers initially argued that they were not at fault but after thorough investigation, engineering analysis and examinations for discovery it was clear that they were both liable and a favourable settlement was reached. Steve’s settlement funds will allow him to live in an accessible home of his choosing, get the care that he needs and live with dignity.
“To Roger, Troy and Azin – on behalf of Steven, David, my parents, and me, we would like to offer a very sincere thank you for the mediation and your work on achieving the great settlements. Steve is very happy and can now put this part behind him and move forward. We can’t express how grateful we are for your work in negotiating with the other parties.
To Justin, Kimberly, Bill and Tracey, and all others who have worked on Steve’s case – thank you for all your work with Steve. Thanks to each of you for your commitment to Steve. Though the circumstance was one that we would not wish upon anyone, having a competent and caring team on our side provided guidance and hope during this traumatic and heart wrenching time. We are so very grateful.” – Christine Hayashi, sister
