Pressure crack causes snowmobile accident

Our client suffered a spinal cord injury when he crashed his snowmobile on Lake Simcoe.  Our client was an avid and experienced snowmobiler. He was riding his snowmobile when he hit a pressure crack on the lake.  He was thrown from his snowmobile and he landed on his back, suffering an incomplete spinal cord injury.  As a result of his injury, he had little function in his legs and he used a wheelchair to get around.  A dispute arose with our client’s own insurance company over the payment of accident benefits to fund home renovations to make his home wheelchair accessible.  We settled his accident benefits file for over $1.3 million.
