Woman Cut Off By Driver Who Fails to Stop and Is Never Identified
Our client was a 54 year-old woman who worked at a department store. She was on her way to work driving on a multi-lane highway when a car cut in front of her aggressively. She successfully avoided a collision by steering to her right but lost control of her vehicle, which spun off the road and rolled over. The driver of the car that cut off our client sped away and was never identified. Pursuant to the provisions of our client’s insurance policy we were able to sue her own insurance company for the negligence of the unidentified driver. Our client struggled with cognitive and emotional issues following the collision caused by a combination of a mild traumatic brain injury and the trauma of the collision. Her claim was settled for $500,000, compensating her for her lost income and providing money for her future care needs.
