Young Man Loses Control on Black Ice

Young man on his way to work loses control on black ice, collides with truck and suffers severe brain injury.  When we were retained by this young man his case appeared hopeless.  While he had catastrophic level accident benefits it appeared doubtful we could mount a successful lawsuit against any party who might be at fault.  It was a tragic case because our client was not yet 30 and had just been married 2 months when the collision occurred.  His brain injury was so severe that he would be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life.  He cannot talk.  He needs assistance with every aspect of self-care.  As a result of our investigation we learned that the roadway had not been treated by the road authority despite warnings of ice and observations of frost on the roads by the road patrolman.  The case went to trial.  Toward the end of the first week the case was settled.  Our client and his loving wife have sufficient funds for his care – sufficient funds to ensure that our client has the best possible quality of life.
