Helen brings over 29 years of experience in the insurance and legal industries across Canada, Belgium, and the U.S. She has held diverse roles including accident benefits adjuster, claims manager, paralegal, and risk assessment specialist. Helen holds a Chartered Insurance Professional designation, is working toward her Fellowship CIP, and also holds a Risk Management Certificate, Rehabilitation Management Certificate, an MBA, and a Master’s in Sociology. A licensed paralegal with the Law Society of Ontario, Helen is a returning member of the Oatley Vigmond team, where she previously spent 10 years. She is dedicated to helping clients with serious injuries achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Born in Toronto, Helen’s journey took a unique turn when her family purchased a farm in Bradford, Ontario, when she was just eight years old. Growing up surrounded by crops and animals, ranging from pigs, cattle, and horses to geese, goats, and even a raccoon, Helen developed a deep love for animals, nature, and community. Her diverse upbringing fostered resilience, compassion, and curiosity, qualities that have shaped her life and career ever since.

With over 29 years of experience in the insurance and legal industries across Canada, the United States, and Belgium, Helen brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to her work. She has held a wide range of roles including Accident Benefits Adjuster, Independent Field Adjuster, Paralegal, Insurance Agent, Risk Assessment Specialist, Intake Coordinator, and Claims Manager, including leading the Accident Benefits Unit for the Atlantic region.

Helen holds the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation, earning the highest mark in the Atlantic for the Claims course, and is currently completing her Fellowship Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP). She also holds a Risk Management Certificate, a Certificate in Rehabilitation Management, and is a licensed paralegal with the Law Society of Ontario.

Her academic background includes a Master of Arts in Sociology, where she focused her research on the impacts of military postings on children. Her findings were presented to the Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs (SCONDA) and at military family resource centres in CFB Borden and CFB Gagetown. She also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), completing her Capstone Project in Amsterdam.

Helen has contributed to her community through leadership and volunteer roles, including serving on the Board of the S.S. Atlantic Heritage Park in Nova Scotia, running for Municipal Council in Thornton, and holding executive roles with the Essa Library Board and Rising Star Pony Club. Internationally, she has served on the SHAPE International Women’s Club and Catholic Parish Committee in Belgium, where she received commendations from the Base Commander and the Vatican for organizing international community events.

She is a member of the Insurance Institute of Canada, the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, and has previously contributed to the Trial Lawyers Association Law Clerks Division and the 1956 Hungarian Memorial History Project at the University of Toronto.

Now a proud returning member of Oatley Vigmond, Helen applies her extensive experience and education to support clients with serious traumatic injuries. She is dedicated to guiding them through their rehabilitation journeys with compassion and expertise.
