Josie has been working in the legal industry since 1987. She joined Oatley Vigmond in 1995 as a senior law clerk, having developed expertise in demonstrative evidence applications, particularly in the areas of mediation and trial preparation. Her desire to provide hands-on support to clients and their families led her to become an accident benefits specialist. Now, she provides Oatley Vigmond clients with prompt and effective assistance to access the insurance benefits to which clients are entitled. She helps assemble a reliable community rehabilitation and long-term care team for our clients. She’s a licensed paralegal with the Law Society of Ontario, and holds a certificate in rehabilitation management from Seneca College.

She helps assemble a reliable community rehabilitation and long-term care team for our clients. She’s a licensed paralegal with the Law Society of Ontario, and holds a certificate in rehabilitation management from Seneca College.

Over the years, she has enhanced her skills in legal research, law, litigation, trial preparation, anatomy, physiology, accident investigation, benefits and negotiation. She has presented at OTLA, LSUC and Advocates’ society programs, as well as at Georgian College. She’s written an article on internet searches for The Litigator, and is a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association – Law Clerks Division. In 2007, she received the OTLA Distinguished Law Clerk award. Josie has completed the Brain Basics Training Program with the Ontario Brain Injury Association, the Case Management program, and has attended many educational industry programs and seminars, both as a learner and presenter.

Josie is an active participant in all Oatley Vigmond conferences, where she often leads yoga sessions for attendees at events such as Niagara BI and Killarney. She also offers a weekly yoga class to staff to support stress relief and well-being, and regularly takes part in Lunch & Learns. A certified yoga instructor, Josie enjoys outdoor sports and is deeply involved in charitable initiatives, including the 200 km Ride for Cancer in support of Princess Margaret Hospital.

Her volunteer work includes contributions to the Barrie Out of the Cold Program and the Brain Injury Society of Simcoe (BISS). She is also involved with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), where she mentors others and leads yoga and meditation sessions for caregivers.

Josie is currently seeking opportunities to connect with women’s shelters where she can offer yoga and meditation classes. Please reach out to her with any opportunities to collaborate.
