$1.5 Million Settlement
Our client suffered severe orthopaedic injuries and a brain injury when a young driver crossed the centre line and struck her vehicle head-on. After many months of rehabilitation she was able to return to her home. However her home would require significant home modifications in order to accommodate her disability.
Her auto insurer refused to pay for the home modifications and it refused to acknowledge that she had sustained a catastrophic impairment. The insurer ignored our client’s request for payment of accident benefits for many months. Her own auto insurer treated her so poorly that she sued her auto insurer for “bad faith”. The insurer ultimately agreed that our client had sustained a catastrophic impairment and we ultimately settled the case for more than $1.5 million.
