$490,000 Settlement
Our client, a young man working at a well-paid physical job, was injured when a vehicle turned left into his motorcycle. The crash caused a badly fractured wrist that required surgery. He was unable to return to his pre-accident physical job. The young man persevered and was able to re-train for a less physical job that would pay him nearly as well as his prior job. However, he was left with permanent limitations in his hand and arm.
The defence argued that the client was partly to blame for the crash due to entering the intersection on an amber light and not taking proper steps to avoid the left turning vehicle. The case settled at mediation for more than $490,000.
