Ben first joined Oatley Vigmond as a summer student in May 2013, returning as an articling student, then joining the firm as an associate lawyer following his call to the bar in June 2015. He has represented clients successfully at all levels of the court in Ontario, including the Ontario Court of Appeal, as well as the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench. He has also acted for clients on leave applications to the Supreme Court of Canada.

Ben holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, a Master of Arts in International Affairs from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University, and an Honours B.A. in Criminology from York University.

Ben also completed an international law internship at UNESCO, and studied a semester abroad at the George Washington University Law School in Washington D.C. In 2013, he received the Best Oralist Award in Canada at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, the world’s largest moot court competition, where he also helped his team win the Best Respondent Factum in Canada.
