PARTNER
Brian Cameron joined Oatley Vigmond in 1999 after obtaining his law degree from Western University. Beginning his journey in an articling position at Oatley Vigmond. Fresh out of law school, the first case he argued in court was a small claim’s trial for the firm’s then-senior partner, Roger Oatley, who was suing a dry cleaner who’d lost three of his dress shirts. Brian won that action for $285 plus costs, and has been with the OV team ever since. He became a partner in 2008.

Brian’s first career was as a professional musician in a rock band. Raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Brian picked up the guitar at age 14 and eventually spent 10 years as a musician.
Brian’s priority is making his clients feel comfortable and partnering with them to work through their immediate needs. He has a gift for explaining complex legal concepts in ways that clients can easily grasp. Brian is dedicated to representing those who have sustained serious injuries, with a focus on motor vehicle collisions, boating accidents, occupiers’ liability claims and product liability issues. He has spoken at personal injury conferences around the country, notably before the Canadian Bar Association, the Advocates’ Society, the Canadian Defence Lawyers organization, The American Association for Justice and the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association.
In 2008, Brian was named Outstanding Young Lawyer by the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association. He taught the Personal Injury Advocacy course at Queen’s University Faculty of Law for 11 years, before retiring to avoid the long drive. Outside of work, he plays poker, watches football and reads a lot, mostly about history or physics.
