Mixing boating with alcohol continues to be a big problem today, even with the stigma that surrounds drinking and operating an automobile. The same social condemnation does not seem to surround drinking and driving your boat.
Most people are not aware that whether you are the driver or the passenger on a boat, if caught, the driver of the boat can lose his/her boating license, as well as their driver’s license.
There is no tolerance for open alcohol on a boat. The accidents that occur while boating are more often than not severe or fatal, as they do not have the safety, accident protection elements that are present in an automobile such as air bags.
