Megan and Ken Vos were on holiday in Mexico when Ken developed bleeding in his brain, the cause of which was never diagnosed. Ken had a craniotomy in Mexico. This involved the removal of part of his skull to relieve the pressure on his brain. After some time, he was transferred back to hospital in Ontario. While he awaited the re-implantation of his missing skull, he remained confused and impulsive. When he was alone in his room he had to be restrained for his own safety. Unfortunately, the nurses in the hospital left Ken unrestrained one night. He tried to get out of bed and fell to the ground, striking his head. This resulted in a further injury to his brain which set his recovery back considerably.
Megan retained Troy Lehman and Oatley Vigmond. The case was ultimately resolved following mediation, with Ken receiving significant compensation for his future care and needs.
“I was pleased with the final outcome and very impressed by the staff’s attitude and expertise. I was treated kindly, with respect and concern. I think you all know what you are doing and do it well. Thank you so much!”
