Steven Hayashi was walking across an intersection in a pedestrian crosswalk when he was hit by a car and knocked to the ground. The driver of the car that hit Steve came to assist him and both men were then run over by a driver who failed to see them on the road. Steve suffered a complete spinal cord injury and a traumatic brain injury. Both drivers initially argued that they were not at fault but after thorough investigation, engineering analysis and examinations for discovery it was clear that they were both liable and a favourable settlement was reached. Steve’s settlement funds will allow him to live in an accessible home of his choosing, get the care that he needs and live with dignity.
