Wayne suffered bilateral shoulder tears due to a rear end motor vehicle collision. Oatley Vigmond was able to negotiate a resolution of Wayne’s claims to compensate him for loss of income, loss of handyman services, and loss of enjoyment of life.
I am not sure where to start, but here it goes… My name is RS Wayne Watson, I used to work for a large municipal corporation, but I am now retired after 30 years of municipal service with this corporation. During these years of service, I was directly responsible for representing this corporation in a number of personal lawsuits against the corporation. During this time, I was directly responsible for the denial of many personal claims. After 30 years of service I met a large number of different personal injury lawyers and I have to admit I did not have much respect for them, until one day, when fate would have it, I would require my own personal injury lawyer. My family and I were involved in a horrendous accident caused by a distracted driver that hit us from behind causing our vehicle to go into a ditch and catapult over a driveway only to have our vehicle hit a hydro poll, which came into the back of our vehicle behind my step-son about a foot. We were all admitted to the hospital with semi-minor injuries except for myself who suffered a catastrophic, life-changing injury. Three tendons were torn off my right shoulder and one tendon tore from my left shoulder. After 2 surgeries, they were only able to repair 2 of the 3 tendons in my right shoulder, limiting me from raising my arm above my shoulder on my right side, changing my life forever.
At this point I would like to point out that I was a huge skeptic of the results of accidents or catastrophic accidents. As a representative of a corporation, I would not accept the thought of people’s fears and anxieties until I witnessed with my wife who has been changed forever due to this accident as she has a fear of being a passenger in a vehicle and recurring nightmares of seeing the accident over and over again. She has gone through therapy to try and overcome some of these anxieties, but they are still present, just not as frequent. And for this I am ashamed because I did not have the sympathy that I should have had when dealing with past cases.
After the accident, using my background of all the personal injury companies I went up against, there was only one I had any respect for and that was Oatley Vigmond. Having past experience of working against them, I knew that they were the best. That is when I reached out to them and Harrison Cooper was the first one to contact me. I told him my story, and he was very sympathetic to my situation and asked me to come in and meet him and his team. That was the day all my fears left me and I knew I was in good hands after personally meeting Harrison Cooper and Steven Smyth. Both Harrison and Steven sat me down and explained the process and what I could expect in the future. Harrison explained to me that he would be taking all the information and presenting it to Adam and the other senior lawyers to evaluate the potential case and how they would proceed. Well after 3 years of many meetings and conversations with Harrison, I cannot tell you how much respect I have for this man and I do not give that out lightly as I am not a lover of lawyers from past experience. Harrison has won my heart as well as my friendship. I can honestly say that I looked forward to every conversation and meeting that I had with Harrison. He always took the time to make me feel at ease, explaining every aspect of the process and what I could expect going forward.
Harrison is a very bright, intelligent, forward thinking individual that has the ability to look at a situation from a different angle and a new young set of eyes and come up with strategies that I never would have thought of. Any of his clients, or new clients, will be lucky to have him in their corner. After successfully winning my case and looking after my future, there has now been a newfound respect for the hard work and time that Harrison and his team have done for me.
In closing, Oatley and Vigmond are very lucky to have such a talented and compassionate lawyer as Harrison on their team. I will miss my conversations with Harrison about my case, but can now honestly say I actually have a new friend that is a lawyer.
Yours truly,
Wayne Watson
