$600,000 Settlement
A young cyclist had just completed grade 12 and was looking forward to studying police foundations when he was struck by an unlicensed and uninsured driver, in a mechanically unfit 25 year-old pick-up truck. The force of the collision left our client with a fractured skull, a large laceration on his head, a traumatic brain injury and a fractured right shoulder. Despite shoulder reconstruction surgery, as well as numerous treatments and therapies, our client would never become a police officer.
Because the driver of the pick-up truck was uninsured, a lawsuit was commenced against our client’s own insurance company for uninsured coverage. The case was settled prior to trial for more than $600,000.
