$950,000 Settlement
An active middle-aged couple were driving on a provincial highway near Huntsville on a sunny, but very cold, winter day. An oncoming vehicle lost control on a patch of ice and crossed the centre line, crashing into our clients’ SUV. This was the tenth time a vehicle had lost control on ice in that area in just 5 years.
Our clients suffered both physical and psychological injuries in the crash. We sued the Ministry of Transportation, as well as the other driver. The case settled at a pre-trial mediation for more than $950,000.
