$900,000 Settlement
Our client, a married father in his fifties, was asked by a relative to try to repair a malfunctioning product. While testing the malfunctioning product, the client suffered a significant brain injury. He tried to return to his pre-injury job but was unsuccessful. He retained Oatley Vigmond to sue the manufacturer of the product along with the importer and distributor of the product.
The lawsuit was contested vigorously. He was initially offered less than had been spent to obtain expert reports to prove his case. Shortly before trial, the claim was settled for $900,000. This will replace the income that the client has lost and allow him to receive the ongoing care that he needs.
