$2 Million Settlement
A 19 year old girl was rollerblading with her friend when two reckless teenaged boys were riding unlicensed and uninsured dirtbikes without any lights or reflectors. She was so violently hit by the dirtbike that she suffered a fractured pelvis, shattered right leg, fractured right arm, and an open fracture to her lower left leg resulting in amputation below her knee. Her life of horseback riding, rollerblading, and playing sports was turned upside down.
When the fractures healed and she was fitted with a prosthetic leg, but she continued to suffer from phantom limb pain. We sued the two boys riding the dirtbikes, their parents, the girl’s own insurer as the dirtbike riders were uninsured, and the girl’s insurer for denied accident benefits. We settled this matter prior to trial for $2 Million.
