$1.25 Million Settlement
Our client was a 58 year-old woman who worked for a school board. She was driving through an intersection when a car turned left into her path. She slammed on the brakes but could not avoid a violent collision. Her right ankle was fractured and she suffered multiple fractures of her right foot. Unfortunately, she developed post-traumatic arthritis and significant ongoing pain. She also suffered from post-traumatic stress as a result of the collision.
We sued the other driver. There was a dispute about our client’s speed. We were able to obtain a convincing engineering opinion to confirm our client’s evidence that she was going the speed limit before the defendant turned left in front of her. After mediation and a pre-trial but before the trial we were able to settle the case for $1,250,000, enough money to compensate our client for all of her lost income and future care.
