$2.725 Million Settlement
Our client suffered a mild traumatic brain injury and fractures to his pelvis when a drunk driver crashed into him from behind while they were driving on the highway. The drunk driver was coming from a bar where he had been drinking about ten minutes earlier.
We sued the drunk driver and the bar for serving the defendant to the point of intoxication. We also had to sue our client’s own auto insurer for Underinsured Motorist Coverage because the drunk driver only had $500,000 in liability insurance limits and our client’s claims exceeded that amount.
Our client had just graduated from University when the crash occurred and he was unable to find work in his chosen field as a result of his injuries. We settled his case against the drunk driver and the bar, as well as with his own accident benefits insurer for $2,725,000.
