$1.5 Million Verdict
This was the second case in which we were retained by a doctor with trauma induced post-polio syndrome. This doctor was a neuropsychologist from Vancouver. This client had suffered polio as a child but had gone on to lead an active successful life. All that changed.
While visiting Ontario our client slipped and fell on trash on the floor of the vegetable department in a grocery store. Like the earlier case the trauma caused an injury to our client’s knee, which healed uneventfully. But the trauma triggered a neurological cascade that impaired our client’s ability to practice. After a trial Loblaw was found liable to pay our client damages in excess of $1,500,000.
