$2.8 Million Settlement
Our client was a 39 year-old husband and father. He was driving on a city street through an intersection when his vehicle was hit by a city bus. His wife was killed and both of his legs had to be amputated above the knee.
When we first took on the case the situation looked bleak. The police concluded that our client had run a red light. Through our investigation we discovered that the traffic signal was controlled by sensors in the roadway and we were able to develop an argument that the light for the bus had to have been red (despite the evidence of a bus driver and an independent witness to the contrary).
The case against the bus driver was settled just prior to trial for $2,800,000. The settlement will make a significant difference to our client’s quality of life.
