$900,000 Settlement
Our client was a 54 year-old woman who worked as a technician in factory that produces optic lenses. This was a job that required good fine motor skills with both hands and arms. She was driving on a two lane road in her lane at the speed limit when a truck heading in the opposite direction crossed the centerline and hit her. She suffered a complicated set of fractures to her left (dominant) arm, in the forearm and elbow.
These injuries left her with a non-functional limb and she was unable to return to her job. She had to undergo several surgeries, including a complete elbow replacement, which did little to relieve her pain.
We sued the driver of the truck that crossed the centerline and recovered $900,000 from his insurance company. This money compensated our client for her pain and suffering, lost income and the cost of her future care.
