$1.12 Million Settlement
Our client was a teenager when he fell off an ATV that his friend was driving. He suffered relatively minor injuries in the mishap. He brushed himself off and then went home. Over the next several months, he began to develop psychological symptoms that progressed into full blown Conversion Disorder and Dissociative Disorder.
We submitted an application for Accident Benefits on his behalf and we also made an application for Catastrophic Impairment. His Accident Benefits insurer denied that he sustained a Catastrophic Impairment and we started a legal action against the insurer. The insurer also took the position that the ATV accident did not cause any of his problems. We obtained expert medical opinions to assist our client and we successfully settled his Accident Benefits file at mediation for $1,120,000.
