$12 Million Settlement
Our client, a young man, was driving along a secondary highway in Ontario. He had no way of knowing that a massive steel container had been loaded improperly onto the back of a tractor trailer. As the tractor trailer turned a corner the container came loose and flew like a missile into our client’s vehicle. He suffered a severe brain injury leaving him unable to work, unable to care for himself and requiring supervision 24 hours a day for the sake of his own safety and the safety of others.
We acted for this young man in an action against the owner of the truck and the manufacturer of the container system. In a mediated settlement we recovered in excess of $12,000,000 for our client. Our client’s guardian now has sufficient funds to purchase care for him for the rest of his life.
