    About Steven Smyth

    Prior to joining Oatley Vigmond in 2012 as an Accident Benefits Specialist, Steven worked as a Claims Manager in the Insurance Industry for over 16 years specializing in automobile accident collisions, personal injury, and litigation. Having years of experience in claims management, Steven has a unique insight into the insurance system and how insurance companies think.

    As an Accident Benefits Specialist, Steven provides prompt and effective assistance with accessing insurance benefits to which clients are entitled following automobile collisions. He helps assemble a reliable community of rehabilitation and long term care specialists for our clients.

    Steven’s practice areas consist of brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopaedic injuries, and other personal impairments.

    When Steven isn’t working, he is an active member of the community. He has held the role of Manager and Trainer in the Barrie Minor Hockey Association responsible for the safety, first aid, and health of players. He is also Assistant Coach, Representative Program for the Bradford Eagles Soccer Club Competitive Program, and participates in many local charitable organizations.

    Professional Involvement

    Steven is a Member of Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA), an organization comprised of legal professionals from Ontario working in our local communities to ensure equal access to justice, full and fair protection of the rights of those who have suffered injury. He is also a member of the Insurance Institute of Canada, and Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) program. The Insurance Institute is the premier source of professional education for the country’s property and casualty insurance industry.
